1957 年法蘭克·辛納屈 Frank Sinatra 準備錄一張熱鬧的聖誕專輯《A Jolly Christmas》，唱到〈Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas〉時卡住了：原本那句「until then we'll have to muddle through somehow」聽起來太喪氣。 Martin 改成「hang a shining star upon the highest bough」，辛納屈這麼一唱，後來大家就都唱這個版本了。

這張《Ultimate Christmas》把他不同時期錄的聖誕歌收在一起，從〈White Christmas〉、〈Jingle Bells〉、〈The First Noël〉一直到〈The Christmas Song〉，一張就是辛納屈的整個聖誕節。
